| Ferris leasing Oneida Ltd. warehouse |
Briggs & Stratton Yard Power Products Group, parent company of Ferris Industries, has taken up residence in Sherrill at the Oneida Ltd. warehouse on Highbridge Road.
The company is leasing 100,000 square feet of the building to house both finished products and some light manufacturing.
"Currently, it's just for the products manufactured in Munnsville," said Phil Wenzel, president of Ferris Industries. "We will examine the economical and logistical benefit of possibly warehousing other products that are manufactured under the Simplicity brands, the Snapper brands - various other brands that Briggs & Stratton manufactures in different plants. We'll look at that and see if that whole package makes sense to expand further."
Eventually, he said the company will lease out the remaining half of the building, but for now, Oneida Ltd. is continuing to use that portion.
